Danno “Khulekani” Petersen is a world-class drummer, percussion educator, and international touring artist whose talent announced itself early — and never stopped growing. Endorsed by Yamaha at age 4, certified as a percussion educator by Trinity College London at 13, and admitted to the University of the Western Cape at 11, Khulekani’s journey has been anything but ordinary.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music (BM, 2024) with a Master's degree in progress (expected 2026), Danno has performed on some of music's most prestigious stages — from the Grammy Awards After Party to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival — while building a reputation as one of the most dynamic drum educators working today.

With over 150 workshops and masterclasses delivered across the globe and more than 45,000 students reached, Khulekani brings the same fire and precision to teaching that he brings to performance. His approach blends technical mastery with groove, improvisation, and ensemble playing, seasoned with motivational speaking that meets students where they are and pushes them further than they thought possible.
